Drew’s Bio

Drew Gilmour co-founded to focus exclusively on tax controversy work. His practice centres on resolving disputes with the Canada Revenue Agency, including appeals of assessed amounts, judicial reviews, rectification applications, and collection issues. He has acted for clients before every major tax-related court in British Columbia and at the federal level, including the Tax Court of Canada and the Federal Court of Appeal.

Before launching the firm, Drew worked in the tax groups of two national law firms and at a boutique dedicated entirely to tax controversy. His broader tax background includes corporate and personal tax, trust taxation, cross-border matters, and the law of charities. That depth informs his litigation work, allowing him to quickly assess complex tax positions, identify technical weaknesses in CRA assessments, and guide files strategically from audit to resolution.

Drew is a former instructor for the CPA In-Depth Tax Course and a regular speaker on tax litigation and CRA collections. In 2021 and 2022 he was a member of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce Economics & Taxation Committee. His written work has been published by the Canadian Tax Foundation and Bloomberg BNA. He holds a J.D. from the University of Victoria and an undergraduate in Linguistics and Philosophy from UBC. Clients and referring professionals value his clarity, rigour, and precision under pressure.
